New Recycling Hours

The recycling center hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. We ask that you check in at the office before dropping off your recycling. The price per visit for recycling is $3.00. We also offer an annual membership of $20.00 per household and a senior annual membership of $15.00 (55 years of age or older) per household. Please fill out the membership application and either mail it to us with your check or drop it off at our office. Your annual membership includes unlimited recycling for you and any family member living in your household for one year.

Village of Fowlerville Residents: Please check in at the office to receive your recycling membership card and always check in before dropping off your recycling.


RECYCLE ITEMS ACCEPTED

#1 PETE PLASTIC - BIN #1: Containers must have the #1 Pete symbol on the bottom. Ex. of #1 Pete Plastics: Soft drink, water and beer bottles (plastic); mouthwash bottles; peanut butter containers; salad dressing and vegetable oil containers; ovenable food trays. Remove lids, rinse, clean & flatten. The following items are not allowed in this bin: Motor Oil Bottles, Styrofoam, #2-#7 Plastics.

#2 PETE PLASTIC - BIN #2: Containers must have the #2 Pete symbol on the bottom.
Ex. of #2 Pete Plastics: Milk jugs, juice bottles; bleach, detergent and household cleaner bottles; shampoo bottles; some trash & shopping bags; butter and yogurt tubs; cereal box liners. Remove lids, rinse, clean and flatten. The following items are not allowed in this bin: Motor Oil Bottles, Styrofoam, and #1, #3, #4, #5, #6 or #7 Plastic.

#3, #5, #6, #7 PETE PLASTIC - BIN #3-#7 (NO #4 PLASTICS): Containers must have the #3, #5, #6, or #7 Pete symbol on the bottom.
Ex. of #3 Pete Plastics: Window cleaner and detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, cooking oil bottles, and clear food packaging. Ex. of #5 Pete Plastics: Some yogurt containers, syrup bottles, ketchup bottles, caps (lids), straws, and medicine bottles. Ex. of #6 Pete Plastics: Disposable plates and cups, meat trays, egg cartons, carry-out containers, aspirin bottles, and compact disc cases. Ex. of #7 Pete Plastics: 3 and 5 gallon water bottles, signs and displays, and certain food containers. Rinse, clean and flatten.

CORRUGATED CARDBOARD & BROWN BAGS - CARDBOARD BIN: Absolutely no plastics or boxboard allowed in this bin.
. Ex. Packing Boxes, Brown Paper Grocery Bags. Breakdown and remove any material/contaminants (i.e. Styrofoam, Wood, or Food). The following items are not allowed in this Bin: Cereal Boxes, Shoe Boxes or other Boxboard, Glossy or Shiny Cardboard, Wax Coated Cardboard, 6/12/24 Pack Beverage Cases.

NEWSPAPER BIN: Absolutely no plastics or cardboard allowed in this bin.
Ex. Livingston Press & Argus, Lansing State Journal, etc. (including inserts): Remove from plastic or paper bags. Remove all string or Twine. Inserts are acceptable (Sunday coupons, etc.) The following items are not allowed in this bin: Magazines, Phone Books, or Junk Mail.

TIN CANS & ALUMINUM - MISC. STEEL BIN:Absolutely no plastics, any type of paper or cardboard allowed in this bin.
Ex. Soup Cans, Aluminum Foil & Trays. Rinse, clean and flatten. The following items are not allowed in this bin: Paint Cans, Hangers, Aerosol Cans, and Containers with Food Residue.

FOOD & BEVERAGE GLASS - GLASS BIN (Brown & Clear): Absolutely no plastics, any type of paper or cardboard allowed in this bin.
Rinse, clean and remove lids and metal rings. Place metal lids in the misc. steel bin. Labels may be left on. The following items are not allowed in this bin: Green Glass, Window Panes, Light Bulbs, Pyrex, Plate Glass, and Automobile Glass.

MISCELLANOUS BIN:
Boxboard, Glossy Magazines & Catalogs, Plastic Bags, Office Paper, and Styrofoam. Ex. Cereal and Cracker Boxes; Tissue and Paper Towel Rolls; Time, People, JCPenney, Lands End. Breakdown and remove any material/contaminants (i.e. Plastic or Food). Magazines and catalogs must be glossy on all pages. May be stapled or glue bound. Remove from plastic or paper bag. Remove all string and twine. The following items are not allowed in this bin: Phone Books, TV Guide, or Books.

ON-SITE DUMPING CENTER

The drop-off center is open 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.

Before dropping items off we ask that you check in at the office to pay for drop-off items and for direction to the container the items are to be placed in.
